February 28, 2021 Albion, MI (AMN) – Albion Standing has organized a show of support for our students in response to the recent controversy over the Black Lives Matter mural presently in the cafeteria at the Marshall High School building. This is in no way affiliated with the Marshall Public School district, nor the NAACP organization.
In organizing this event, we felt it was important to get input from our students, as far as the location, format and goals.
The consensus from students:-Open dialogue-Visibility in the Marshall community (HS building seems isolated)-space for “food for thought” The students want to be heard and want open dialogue. This is not a political issue, but an equity issue.
We are asking you to stand in support with our students as Albion Standing hosts: Albion Standing w/ MHS students. The show of support rally will be held tomorrow, February 28 at 3:30 pm at the Marshall Post Office (sidewalks): 202 E Michigan Ave, Marshall. This will be an open discussion opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and experiences. We are looking forward to standing with you in support of our students!
