Shooting in Albion, MI

October 7, 2019 Albion, MI (AMN) – “On Monday, 10/7/19 at approximately 9:30 PM, ADPS responded to a reported shooting in the 400 block of Fitch St. Upon arrival officers located a victim who had been shot at least one time. The victim was transported to the hospital and their condition is not know at this time. The suspect fled the area and is still at large. Detectives from ADPS and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Sgt Nicole Wygant at 517-629-7824 or Silent Observer at 517-629-2700”. Initial reports were received from the Jackson Michigan Police Scanner and Media Group that a shooting had taken place in Albion Michigan. Residents of Clark Street near Knauf Insulation reported hearing a gun shot. A local resident witnessed a person leaving Ambulance

Another local resident confirmed the victim was her 41 year old neighbor. There currently is no description of the suspected shooter. Albion Department of Public Safety is expected to release more information. Albion College was also said to be on high alert or lock down for students safety. Detectives continued to investigate the incident Tuesday.
