School Violence Threat Investigated by Deputies

December 9, 2021 | Homer, MI | AMN – On Thursday, Dec. 9, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies were contacted due to a threat made against Homer Schools. School officials had located two hand-written threats written on the walls in two different boys bathrooms at the school. Authorities quickly narrowed down the time frame when the threats were written, and using the hallway video system were able to identify a 14-year-old student as the suspect.
The juvenile was interviewed and confessed to making the threats as a dare from other students in the school. Deputies verified this with the other students involved. A warrant request was forwarded to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office.
