(AMN) – On Monday May 9, 2022 at approximately 4:52 p.m., Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies from Pennfield Township were dispatched to area M66 Highway and Swift Road for a two-vehicle personal injury crash. Through investigation, it was determined a SUV traveling southbound crossed over the center line and struck a 4-door passenger vehicle traveling northbound. The driver of the SUV was identified as a 26-year-old male. He sustained injuries to his lower extremities. The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as a 20-year-old male. He was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire personnel. He suffered injuries to his lower extremities. There was also a 16-year-old female passenger in the rear seat of this vehicle who suffered injuries as well. All were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Distracted driving appears to be the cause of the crash. No alcohol or drugs are suspected. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Pennfield Township Fire and Life Care Ambulance.
