March 23, 2020 Lansing, MI (AMN) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is expected to issue a stay-at-home order today during the scheduled 11 a.m. press conference today, Monday 3/23/2020. The order permits residents to shop for groceries, pickup medications and perform other essential services required for home and work. Residents will still be permitted to do normal everyday activities such as walking, running, hiking, walking pets, supply runs, critical appointments and more. City and state parks will still be open. It is imperative that social distancing still be maintained and disinfecting of surfaces still be standard practice. Be sure to care for friends, family, and pets.
Whitmer is currently in discussions with medical professionals from The University of Michigan, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania and John’s Hopkins University about COVID-19 and slowing the spread with the possible stay at home order as a tool in the scientific arsenal to fight the disease.
