June 23, 2019 Albion, MI (AMN) — A Flood Watch has been issued for Southwestern Michigan And is in “EFFECT FROM 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.”
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Flood Watch for portions of south central Michigan and southwest Michigan, including the following areas, in south central Michigan, Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, and Jackson. In southwest Michigan, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren.
* From 6 PM EDT this evening through Monday evening.
* Recent heavy rain has left much of the area prone to flooding. Occasional Thunderstorms are forecasted through Monday. Some of the storms may contain heavy rain with rates that could top an inch per hour. Local storm total rainfall amounts could exceed 2 inches.
* Urban and small stream flooding will be possible…especially where any storms repeat over the same area.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
