Small Plane Crash in Ann Arbor

May 13, 2019 Ann Arbor, MI (AMN) – A small plane crashed on Saturday evening in Ann Arbor injuring two occupants The Dexter Area Fire Department responded to the crash at the local Cackleberry Airport in Dexter. The privately owned Cessna Skyhawk (N21794) departed the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport and landed at Cackleberry. The pilot was attempting to depart Cackleberry but the aircraft did not maintain sufficient power and airspeed to stay afloat. It is not known why the takeoff was not aborted of if a failure occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident. The crash split the plane in two sending the pilot and passenger to the University of Michigan Medical Center where they are currently in stable condition.
