Albion (AMN) — On the Morning of February 20th, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed more than one search warrant within the City of Albion and Sheridan Township. Several grams of heroin and a large quantity of cash was confiscated at the 1600 block of East Michigan Avenue in Sheridan Township. An un-named 37-year-old Albion man was arrested at that scene and lodged at the Calhoun County Correctional Facility for Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.
These search warrants were the direct result of an investigation regarding drug trafficking which is the cultivation, manufacture, distribution, and sale of drugs that are subject to State and Federal laws. The 600 blocks of Cherry Street in the City of Albion where Deputies determined an amount of crack cocaine.
During the investigation, information was obtained that keyed detectives in on several Albion area residences. Detectives and Public Safety Officers from the Albion Department of Public Safety were brought in to assist with the significant scale search warrant execution. One search warrant was executed within the 1600 block of East Michigan Avenue in Sheridan Township.
The 1200 block of Hillside Road in Albion which houses the Oak Meadows Community where the third search warrant lead police to a quantity of methamphetamine was located.
